All the crowns are out and all the crowds are down and the thieves are lined up below to storm the gates. The crowns are out, and their domes are shining with the kings lined up on the rail, ready, with shovels for snakes. Come show us who you are, and show us what you're made of. The crowns are out on the rail and the thieves are down below and it doesn't look good, so it's time to fight. Show us who you are. Show us what you're made of.
2.
All the things that you waited on All Silent, what? You waited on. There are lines drawn across this land And you'll see them from above as you watch for the day There's a leave you'll take of your friends But better stay on your side. I've got a strong back if you've got mine and you Stay where you live. Wait, wait on, but, don't cross the tracks. If it's what you want, it's what you need. Don't take their headphones off, You might wake them up...
3.
You were born in a sawtooth and you lived outside for your first ten years You stood us straight! Spoke out! (even when you didn't know what to say) That's alright because you spoke bird any way. Say what you are, and say what you will. Thrown under the bus so many times before, you've got thick skin that's made of wood. You stood up straight! You spoke out! Even when you didn't know what to say, that's alright, you spoke bird anyway. Say what you are, say what you will. With a tattoo of a bird in the middle of your back, so your body knows its way back home. Stand up straight! Speak out! Even if you know what to say! when you are speaking bird anyway. You are what you are, and you're made up of what you are.
4.
When you're out and you find that you have become one with the horizon line then you'll see you have become one of us you have become one of the sons of the desert land you are now made of smoke, a myth, you are a sum of the desert lands

about

This EP was recorded live in one night, in a design studio overlooking downtown Seattle.

Town Forest is a Seattle trio who builds narrative landscapes with rhythm, drones, guitar and vocals. Drawn together by a common love of drone and psych music, Cory, Benjamin, and Mark explore the heavy and narrow boundaries of composition with improvisation and constructive songmaking. They are explorers and builders, following threads of sound to field arrangements that are simultaneously simple and complex. Their instruments are old and crusty, and they are surrounded by heavy industry.

Recorded by Nathan Casey and Darrick Leong at ZeroPlus Architects in Seattle
