He Speak Bird
This EP was recorded live in one night, in a design studio overlooking downtown Seattle.
This track is inspired by a building. While riding our bikes to the practice space one eve, Cory and Mark passed a fantastic sawtooth roofed train building and this song started to take shape. Imagining a kid without words, but full of intrinsic knowledge, little dude formed his formidable outreach with pigeons and peregrin falcons (who ate the pigeons).
You were born in a sawtooth and you lived outside for your first ten years
You stood us straight! Spoke out! (even when you didn't know what to say)
That's alright because you spoke bird any way.
Say what you are, and say what you will.
Thrown under the bus so many times before, you've got thick skin that's made of wood.
You stood up straight! You spoke out! Even when you didn't know what to say, that's alright, you spoke bird anyway.
Say what you are, say what you will.
With a tattoo of a bird in the middle of your back, so your body knows its way back home.
Stand up straight! Speak out! Even if you know what to say! when you are speaking bird anyway.
You are what you are, and you're made up of what you are.
